Hm. ich versuche es meist zu vermeiden, meinen Senf zu Dingen zu sa-
gen, von denen ich keine Ahnung habe - will sagen ich hab' zwar ein
Elite, aber mit T-Online hab' ich nichts am Hut. Also, ich zitiere
mal - sorry, ich wei▀, das das eine de-Gruppe ist, aber der Text ist
trotzdem in Englisch:

>Subject: CeBIT'96 - one month later: tips & tricks to ISDN firmware v2.01
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
...
Now I want to answer following topics:
--------------------------------------
...
1.) problems with the German "T-Online Service"
-------------------------------------------------
Many of the German customers asked how they could establish an ISDN-BTX
connection to the German "T-Online Service" provided by the German
Telekom AG using the "T-Online Decoder v1.x" application with the
ZyXEL Elite 2864I:
a) First of all get from our ftp server a modified modem configuration
list file for the "T-Online Decoder v1.x". You will find it under
following URL:
ftp://ftp.ping.at/pub/users/zyxel/software/T-Online/tolmodem.zip
uncompress this file and copy it manually into the \DECODER\DATA
directory.
b) then configure manually the "T-Online Decoder" to work with "modems".
Please select following pull-down/pop-up menues and dialog boxes:
Einstellungen
-> Grundeinstellungen
-> Automatische Konfiguration
-> Experten-Konfiguration
-> Modem-Betrieb konfigurieren
Select the Modem-Typ "ZyXEL Elite 2864I (ISDN): ISDN-BTX",
the correct serial port where you have connected your modem (eg. COM2),
and the other parameters like "Zugangsnummern" and "Nebenstellen-
definition" (= setup for dialing when the modem is connected to an
ISDN PABX)
ATTENTION: because there exists a minor bug in the dial string parsing
in the Elite's ISDN firmware (up to v2.01) you MAY NOT define
the "Amtsholungsziffer(n)" in the "Nebenstellendefinition"
dialogbox. You should add the PABX prefix "0" to the
"Zugangsnummern" dialogbox instead !
c) then click on the "OK" button and answer to following question to start
the test dialing sequence with "OK"
now you can access the "BTX" and "KIT" services using the "T-Online
Service" ISDN access number 1910.
But the "BTX-plus" and "INTERNET" services currently still can't be
accessed because the Telekom's ISDN-BTX header specifications have not
yet been completely implemented into the ZyXEL Elite 2864I f/w v2.01.
ZyXEL R&D Dept. (Research & Developement Departement) works hard on this
problem. One firmware developer was in Hannover on the CeBIT and made
there as many traces as he could. He also tried some modifications in
the firmware which he compiled there while the show. He dedected also a
bug in the "T-Online Decoder v1.x" itself which he reported to the
corresponding Telekom's decoder developement departement - so this
may work with the next upgrade of the "T-Online Decoder" and one of the
next ZyXEL Elite 2864I ISDN firmware upgrades.
If you want to access these two kind of services you still will have to
connect in analog modem V.34 mode. Therefor please select the other
modem entry: "ZyXEL Elite 2864I (ISDN): V.34"
